One woman was killed after the ‘108’ ambulance carrying a two-year-old child to hospital, caught fire at Kallara in the capital city. The dead has been identified as Suhra (57) of Karachira. Her husband Abdul Wahid (70), seriously injured in the accident, has been admitted at the hospital. The child’s parents Dileef and Saleena escaped with minor injuries.
The incident happened at Madannada in Pangode Sunday afternoon. The child was admitted at Pangode Primary Health Centre after she drank kerosene. As her condition worsened, the doctors advised her parents to shift her to medical college hospital. The accident happened when the child was being taken to the hospital in ‘108’ ambulance.
