Nirmal likely to be moved to new college

The state government is thinking of admitting the controversial student Nirmal Madhav to another self financing college to blunt the SFI agitation spreading across the state. Sources said the government was also considering admitting Nirmal Madhav to third semester instead of fifth semester. This is in the wake of the report of the technical committee appointed by Kozhikode district collector P.B.Salim, stating that his admission was against norms.
As per the report, only students who have completed the third and fourth semester examinations could be admitted to fifth semester. The committee pointed out that the government decision to award internal marks to Nirmal for the third and fourth semesters was against rules.Another issue raised by the committee was that Nirmal has not submitted condonation certificate for his absence from class. The committee, however, pointed out that the state government could use its discretion to take any decision on the issue of Nirmal’s admission.
