The real makers of "Oru Madhurakinavin..."song Biju Thirumala and music director Shyam has come up against the use of the song in the movie 'Teja bhai and Family' without their approval. The creators claimed that nobody from Teja bhai team even its director, producer or music director dindn't mention them about the remixing and adding of song in the film.
But the producers of the movie P K Muralidharan and Shantha Murali of the Anantha Vision makes it clear that they have already bought the rights of the song paying 1.5 lakhs to Saregama India, who are holding the original rights for the album.
Producers strongly says that they have all copyrights records of the song.
In 'Teja bhai & Family' ,the remixed song is stepped by Prithviraj and Akhila Sasidharan which is the orginal version is from the film 'Kanaamarayathu' directed by I.V.Sasi and the song is very popular even today and Rahman's dance steps, which are remembered even now, have been immortalised through this song. Deepak Dev scored music for this remix version of the song, which turns as a highlight of the movie.
As the modern day remix of ‘Oru Madhurakinavu’, the super hit disco song of the eighties is lapped up by the viewers watching ‘Thejabhai and family’, the original creators of the song Bichu Thirumala and music director Shyam has come up against the use of the song in the movie without their approval. Bichu and Shyam are saying that none from the ‘Thejabhai’ camp has ever approached them for the rights of the song, or even didn’t let them know that they are remixing the songs for “Thejabhai.’ As per the clauses of Indian Performing rights society act, the original lyricist and music director has rights on the song. But the veterans are not planning to initiate any legal action against the makers.

‘Oru Madhrakinavin….’ which had been one of the most demanded song of the eighties was originally composed for the movie ‘Kanamarayathu’ directed by I V Sasi for V C Films in 1984. The song had Rehman and Shobhana doing the disco steps which became a rage wit the younger audiences of the time. ‘Thejabhai and family’ feature Prithviraj and Akhila in those vintage steps shot in a disco floor by ShamDut.
