Police launch Operation Sweep

Thiruvananthapuram, The Kerala Police has introduced a new scheme named ‘Operation Sweep’ to make Kerala a clean state.

Stringent action ( 1 month imprisonment, Rs 5000 fine) would be charged against those who carelessly dispose the waste materials and garbage in public places. DGP has issued an order in connection with this.

The Kerala High Court had earlier ruled that stringent action would be taken against those who carelessly dispose the waste materials and garbage in public places. Court has also instructed the local self government organizations to initiate action against the public who violate such norms.

Dumping of waste in public places
